Matthew Chang
Matthew Chang, 11, is a sixth grader at Curtis School in Los Angeles. He started studying violin at age 6 with Elmer Su and made his orchestral solo debut at age 9. He has won awards for his violin performances, including first place in the ASTA-LA Regional Competition, the Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra Bach Competition, the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, CAPMT Regional Competitions, and Lansum International Music Festival. He was a winner of the 65th Annual Redlands Bowl Young Artist Competition. He is also a scholarship recipient of the LA Philharmonic Westside Committee and MTAC. Matthew has appeared as a soloist with the Palisades Symphony and the Palos Verdes Regional Symphony Orchestra Chamber group.
