Madeline Soulsby
Madeline Soulsby is a freshman at The Chicago High School for the Arts, Chicago’s only public arts high school. There she is engaged in a comprehensive academic program combined with intensive pre-professional music conservatory training.
A Soprano II vocalist, Madeline sings with the choir and vocal jazz ensemble. Her vocal instructors include Dr. Greta Pope, Dr. Denise Knowlton, Naomi Chami, Gaye Klopack and Philip Torre. Madeline has had only one year of professional voice training, quickly becoming comfortable with a repertoire that includes classical, jazz and musical theater performance. Most recently she won an award for her performances at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (Chicago Chapter) Musical Theater Competition.
In addition to being a vocalist, Madeline has over a decade of classical ballet, pointe and character dance study with ballet masters such as Altin Naska, Valerie Robin, Veronika Catana and Michelle Berger-Modrzejewski. For seven years, Madeline was in the Chicago childrens’ cast of Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker. She has also had dance and acting roles in Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan and Snow Off-White.
At school, Madeline is active in the enHarmonics Jazz Ensemble, Arts Administration Club, and Yearbook Club.
