| Lawrence Zhang, 10 years old, from Overland Park, KS, began piano lessons in 2013 with Joseph Myers and is currently under Ying-Yu Emily Yeh’s instruction. Lawrence was name the first place winner at the Mid-America Music Festival in 2015 and won Honorable Mention at the Kansas State Honors Auditions in 2014 and 2015. He also received the Highest Honors at the Kansas City Music Teachers Association Fall Festival in 2014 and 2015. He participated in the National Piano Guild Auditions and received National Winner Awards in 2014, 2015 and 2016. He was the third place winner of American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition in 2016. Lawrence is also a violinist and clarinet player. Besides music, Lawrence enjoys math and spelling bees. |
