| Christian Chiu is currently a 7th Grader at Fort Couch Middle School in the Upper St. Clair School District. At the age of ten, he made his debut with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performing Mozart's Piano Concerto #21. He was first prize winner of the solo division at the Duquesne Young Artist National Competition, the Pittsburgh Concert Society Young Artist Competition, and has been selected as a Steinway Society of Western PA Young Artist. He has been invited to appear on the live radio show Saturday Light Brigade's Neighborhood Voices on multiple occasions. Most recently, he was selected as finalist for NPR's "From The Top" auditions. He currently studies privately with Professor Natasha Snitkovsky. Christian likes playing music from all different periods, and especially appreciates the works of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Outside of his musical pursuits, Christian enjoys playing chess, ping pong, golf, and watching hockey games. |
