Bernice
began learning piano from Marie Cull when she was four. She has been awarded
various scholarships from the School of Music, Australian National
University, including the special prize awarded by the Head of School for the
most outstanding pre-tertiary student in 2011, and the Head of School of
Music’s Special Award in the 2013 chamber competition. Bernice achieved outstanding success at the Australian National Eisteddfod, winning many first places in the past years. She has also won first, second and third places at the Sydney Eisteddfod since 2011. In 2015, Bernice won the ArtSound Young Virtuoso of the Year Award and represented the ACT as the national finalist at the National Young Virtuoso Award. Also in 2015 she performed in the Canberra International Music Festival as part of the Beethoven series. In previous years Bernice performed in concerts at the school of Music, Wesley Music Centre and various embassies. She was also invited to play at the Australia National Arts Summit in 2013. She has participated in many masterclasses with international artists, including the Young Chopin Masterclass. Bernice also learns cello with Lindy Reksten and takes voice lessons with Helen Swan. |
