Ariana Chiu, currently a 10th grader at Upper Saint Clair High School, has appeared on NPR’s ‘From the Top’ Show, broadcast on Pittsburgh’s WQED 89.3 FM, and more recently was selected and attended Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute (BUTI). In 2015, she won first prize in the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and was featured soloist with the orchestra. In the same year, Ariana soloed with the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra after winning their Young Artist Concerto Competition. She has been first prize winner of the solo division at the Duquesne Young Artist National Competition, a winner of the Pittsburgh Concert Society Young Artist Competition, and was selected as a Steinway Society of Western PA Young Artist. She has been invited to appear on the live radio show Saturday Light Brigade’s Neighborhood Voices on multiple occasions. Ariana has participated in masterclasses with pianists Garrick Ohlsson and Frederic Chiu. She currently studies privately with Professor Natasha Snitkovsky. |
