Andrew Huang



Andrew Huang, age 15, is a sophomore at Westlake High School of Westlake Ohio.  Andrew received Unanimous Superior rating consecutive times at OFMC in Ohio since 2011.   He was rewarded the 2nd place for the 9th Grade Group in the Junior Fortnightly in May 2020. He won the 2nd place of the Best Debussy Performance, the 3rd place of the Best Beethoven, the 2nd place of The Music of Europe and The Music of America in 2020, and the 1st Prize of 2019 Best Mendelssohn Performance in 2019.  He was named the representative in the East Central MTNA Competition “Senior Piano Duet” and competed in MTNA National Competitions Finals in 2019.  He received Outstanding Junior Award by OFMC and was rewarded the second prize winner in Glory Int’l Music Competition and Honorable Mention at 2018 CEOMTA / Graves Competition for Piano Solo Junior Division in 2018. He was awarded Honorable Mention at Northeast Ohio MTA Buckeye Auditions in 2017.  He won the 1st prize for the 6th Grade group of Junior Fortnightly Awards in 2017. He won the 3rd prize of 2016 and 2018 Best Chopin Performance, the 2nd prize of the 2017 The Music of America and the 3rd prize of 2016 The Music of 19th Century.  He was awarded a semifinalist in the 2016 Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition in Solo Intermediate Group. He won the 2nd place in the 2016 OFMC Junior Division Elizabeth Gerber Competition for 6th Graders in piano solo. He was awarded 3rd place at American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition and performed in Carnegie Hall in 2019 and Honorable Mention in 2016. In addition, Andrew plays violin and trumpet at school Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra and Choir for years.
