| Amelia
Allen is 13 years old. She's in 7th grade at Charleston Catholic High School
in Charleston, WV. She has been a member of The Appalachian Children's Chorus
since kindergarten and graduated to Concert Choir in 2014. In addition to
ACC, Amelia takes private voice lessons, piano, and acting lessons with local
instructors. Amelia has not only performed in and around Charleston, WV, but
she has traveled and performed nationally and internationally, including
Washington, D.C., New York, NY, and Italy. In March, Amelia traveled to Chattanooga, TN to be a part of the Southern District American Choral Directors Association Middle School Honors Choir. In 2015, Amelia performed with the Opus Chorale of WV when they presented the American premiere of the Requiem by Norwegian composer Kim André Arneson. She was also selected to sing at the WV Department of Education's Arts Alive! Showcase and the WV Music Educator's Honors Recital. In December 2014, Amelia performed with womanSong and the ACC Chamber Choir. The ensemble performed Lita Grier's Healing the Brokenhearted, A Requiem Missa Brevis in response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings. Amelia sang a solo in the Agnus Dei. Amelia is a musical theater veteran. She played Susan Walker in December 2014 in the Charleston Light Opera Guild's production of Miracle on 34th Street. Other performances include roles in Evita, Mary Poppins, and A Christmas Story. This April, Amelia will play Alice in Limelight Theater's production Alice Through the Looking Glass. |
