Tay Shi En Glenda



Glenda started learning the piano at 4 with Ms Christine Gan. Glenda’s past performance and achievements include the following:

• Diploma of Participation with Distinction at the International Music Festival in Naleczow, Poland, 2016

• First Prize winner, Great Composers Competition, The Music of Germany and Austria (Age Group II), in 2016

• Performed at The Rising Stars Series at Steinway Gallery Singapore, in 2016

• The American Protégé International Concerto Competition (2016), awarded Second Place Winner

• Perform a concerto with The Philharmonic Orchestra of The University of Alicante under Maestro Mihnea Ignat at Sala dei Notari in Perugia Music Festival, Italy, in 2015.

• Performed a solo recital at The Basilica di San Pietro in Perugia Music Festival, Italy, in 2015.

• Asia Music Festival Competition (Finals) in Seoul, Korea, awarded Bronze Prize, in 2014.

• Asia Music Festival Competition (Preliminaries) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, awarded Gold Prize, in 2014.

• Emuse Music Competition in Athens, Greece, awarded Second Prize, in 2014.

• The American Protégé Music Competition, Music Talent Competition, awarded First Place and performed in New York’s Carnegie Hall during the winner’s recital, in 2013.

• The American Protégé Music Competition, International Piano and String Competition, awarded Third Place and performed in New York’s Carnegie Hall during the winner’s recital, in 2013.

• Played in the Seminar on Baroque Piano Music V2.0 Style & Interpretation given by Professor Edward Ho at SPC Theatrette

• Singapore Performers’ Festival at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, awarded Gold Prize, in 2012.



Glenda also plays the violin. Glenda is currently learning violin with Ms Rosemarie Balagtas Aguilar. She performed in various string ensembles and as a violin soloist at various concerts held in Singapore Conference Hall, Jubiliee Hall Raffles Hotel and The Arts House. Last year, she was involved in the Edvox orchestra and played in the Singapore Conference Hall with the Orchestra.

She won First Prize, playing the violin, in The Kadenza Competition (senior Category), at Singapore Arts House in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
