Renee Liou is 12 years old from Overland Park, KS. She started playing piano at the age of 6 and is currently studying piano with Mrs. Ying-Yu Emily Yeh. Renee was awarded first prize from the Great Composers International Competition, The Music of Eastern Europe in 2016. In December 2016, Renee participated in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition and received second prize. Renee is invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York in March 2017. Renee was chosen as a second prize winner of the International Music Competition London Grand Prize Virtuoso in February 2016. She was one of the top ten outstanding winners of Sigma Alpha Iota Junior High Music Auditions in Lawrence, KS 2016 and received cash award. Renee participated in the Mid-America Music Festival and was named the first place winner in 2015 and third place in 2016. She received Honorable Mention in the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition in 2015 and the Enkor International Piano Competition in 2014. Renee also performed in the Fall Festival held by Kansas City Music Teachers Association and received Highest Honors with special merit rating in 2014. Renee was a National Piano Guild Founder Plaque Winner in 2013, 2014 and 2015. She also received Honorable Mention from Kansas State Honors Competitions several times. Besides piano, Renee also loves to play violin.
