Nicholas Abrahams



Nicholas Abrahams (Age 15) is a student of Elizabeth Faidley of the Manhattan School of Music, and a sophomore at the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts. In 2016, Nicholas was a semi-finalist in the 19th Annual Sphinx Competition, won 2nd place in the Camarata Artists International Competition, and was awarded 2nd place in the New World Symphony side-by-side Concerto Competition. In 2015 he won 2nd Place in the East Coast International Competition, was a 2nd place finalist in the American Protégé Piano and Strings Competition, as well as a 2nd place winner in the Alexander Buono International Competition. In January 2014, Nicholas participated in the performance of Luciano Berio’s violin duets, at the New World Center, under the baton of Michael Tilson-Thomas. In April 2014, Nicholas was a featured musician on National Public Radio’s “From The Top” Program. In the annual Florida Federation of Music Clubs Jr. Convention, Nicholas has won Violin solo awards in 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013. In addition, he has won Violin Concerto events in 2010, 2011 and 2013. From 2012 to 2014, Nicholas has performed as a soloist with the Jacksonville Symphony of Florida. In 2013 Nicholas was awarded the Bob Weaver Award, in recognition of exceptional talent, commitment & dedication as a member of the Florida Youth Orchestra Principal division. Nicholas has performed at the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University, Field Hall at the Curtis Institute of Music, Greenfield Hall at the Manhattan School of Music, Merkin Hall at the Lincoln Center, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and the New World Center in Miami Beach.
