Michelle Chen, 12, from Overland Park, KS has been playing piano since the age of six under the instruction of Ms. Ying-Yu Emily Yeh. Michelle has participated in many piano auditions, competitions and festivals and received numerous awards including the Mid-America Music Festival Piano Competitive first place winner in 2011, and the Kansas State Honors Competitions first place winner in 2013 and 2015. Michelle was awarded the Highest Honors with Special Merit performing for the Kansas City Music Teachers Association Fall Festival and the Founders Medal International Winner for American College of Musicians-Piano Guild in 2012 and 2013. Upon receiving third place from the American Protégé International Piano and String Competition in 2014 and 2015, Michelle was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall, New York.
