Kenny Liou, a 9th grader attending Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, KS, has been playing piano since 2nd grade. Kenny is currently under Ying-Yu Emily Yeh’s instruction. Kenny has participated in the International Music Competition London Grand Prize Virtuoso in 2016 and was chosen to be a second prize winner. He received third prize from the Great Composers Competition-The Music of Eastern Europe Competition in 2016. Kenny won the first place in the Mid-America Music Festival in 2015 and second place in 2013 and 2016. He was the first place winner in the Kansas State Honors Competition in 2013. In 2015, Kenny received Honorable Mention in the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. He was also awarded Honorable Mention in the Enkor International Competition in 2014. Besides piano, Kenny is also a violinist.
