Hannah Butcher



Hannah Butcher, student of Alla Yashneva, has been playing the harp since she was nine years old. In 2012, she was selected to perform as a soloist at the State Capitol for the Arizona Centennial, featuring distinguished women of the century. She was also invited to audition for the TV show, America’s Got Talent. As a competitive soloist, she has auditioned for both National Harp Competitions in 2014 and 2015, while attending the 2015 Summer Institute in Logan, Utah. In 2014, she was selected as an alternate for the National Honors Performance at Carnegie Hall, as well as a winner among multiple instruments in the state under the recognition of the Teacher’s Music Association. In her most recent accomplishments, Hannah has competed twice in the Young Artist Recital in Arizona, receiving 3rd place for this past month, and was chosen to perform as a soloist as a part of the Musica Nova program.

As a member of the American Harp Society, she has completed ABRSM Grades one through seven through the Phoenix Chapter of the American Harp Society.

In addition to solo competitions, Hannah enjoys being involved with her school, chamber orchestra and the community. She continues to arrange orchestral parts for the harp. In 2015, she was able to perform with her high school Chamber Orchestra as the principle harpist at Carnegie Hall in the Worldstrides Heritage Performance. She has been an All Region, and an All State winner for years 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Aside from school, Hannah has her own piano studio and participates in the orchestra for the East Valley Millennial Choir and Orchestra. She was the founder, and is the current president for the Music Therapy Club, organizing groups of instrumentalists to perform at hospitals and nursing homes.
